1. How long will it take to get my handbook in place?The entire process takes on average between 30 days and three months, depending on how quickly you can do your part. We send you a link to the initial handbook survey within 1 business days of your order. Once you complete the survey, you should receive a rough draft of your core policies within 2 business days. From there, it is up to you to review your policies and make notes on the changes you need for your office, and let us know when you're ready to schedule your customization and review session. This session can usually be scheduled within 2 weeks, and takes about an hour and a half. Within one business day of your review, you will receive your revised and customized policies for one final review. Once we have your final approval of your customized policies, we will have your final handbook sent to you within 2 weeks. When does my handbook get my state's customizations?You may notice your initial rough draft has some generic statements about state law. Don't worry! Your policies will be updated with specifics as to your state's laws before your customization and review session, and will be included in your final draft. We review your state's laws with regard to more than 30 different points, and make sure your policies reflect the laws that apply to you so you can stay in compliance with the best protections available to employers of your size. 3. Where can I get the forms referenced in the handbook?Your final handbook that is delivered to you will contain all of the forms referenced in your core policies in both hard copy and electronic form. You will also receive many other common forms our clients find useful. If you need a form before your handbook is complete, or don't see a form you'd like to have, simply contact us at the Solution Center. We can usually provide any type of employment form you need. 4. What is the Confidentiality and Non-Disclosure Agreement and when do I get that section?The Confidentiality and Non-Disclosure Agreement referenced in your Core Policies is Part Three of your 3-part Handbook. This Agreement is separate from your core policies and does not require customization. It will be included in your final handbook that is shipped to your office. This is an important policy that protects your practice's confidential information such as patient information, patient lists, and trade secrets. It also gives you the power of injunctive relief to stop any employee who uses this information without your authorization in their tracks. 5. What is included with the final Handbook?The CEDR Handbook includes the following: Instructions for Implementation 6. What can I expect during the Review and Customization Session?Your review and customization session is your designated time to meet one-on-one on the phone with one of our employment experts. This is your chance to make any changes and/or ask any questions about any of the policies or wording in the rough draft of your policies that has already been sent to you. Your expert advisor will also inform you of any customizations for your state at this time, and offer special insight and guidance on particular employment policies that may affect your business. This session usually lasts between one to two hours. It can be conducted with the owner/doctor, a designated office manager or team leader, or both. 7. What do I need to do to prepare for the Review and Customization Session?Before scheduling your appointment time, you should print out a copy of the rough draft of your core polices that was sent to you via e-mail. Review that copy carefully, making notes of any changes or questions you have. Once you complete your review, call us to set up a time for your review session. If you have specific wording from an old policy manual, or a pre-written mission statement you'd like to use, we suggest you send those over to us in advance so we can have them incorporated into your handbook. You can also fax or email over minor changes and edits to make your session a bit faster. Send your customizations to: SolutionCenter@lawsuitfreeworkplace.net. 8. Who do I call to find out the status of my handbook?Call the Solution Center at 866-414-6056 or 602-476-1418 for any questions. 9. I can't open the forms that came on my CD or that were sent to me from CEDR?CEDR uses Word 2007 to create most of its customizable forms. If you have an older version of MS Word, you may need to download a patch to allow you to open these forms. If you're having trouble, just email or call the Solution Center, and we can send you the link for the patch, or re-send the document in another format to suit your needs. 10. We need to make policy changes and our handbook is already finalized. What do we do?CEDR's handbook is made to be easily updated. To make changes to a written policy, you simply need to notify your employees in writing and collect a signed acknowledgement of receipt. Be sure to save the updates to your employer version, and make sure you include any and all updates when you distribute your handbook to new hires.
